2. What Data We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Preferences and Settings: We store your app settings locally on your device and sync them to our servers when you are logged in.
User Content: We store the text you enter into the app and any text extracted from images or files you import. Images you download or save are stored only on your device.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including session duration, features used, and basic device information such as your Android version and screen size.
Subscription Data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, Google Play Billing handles all payment processing. We never have access to your credit card or bank details.
AI-Processed Data: When you use optional AI features (image text extraction, speech-to-text) while online, your data is sent through our servers to OpenAI for processing. This data is not stored after the result is returned.

7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on AWS servers in the European Union. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive data. Access is restricted through role-based access controls.
8. Data Retention
Account and preference data: Retained until you delete your account.
Content history: Retained until you delete it or your account.
Usage analytics: Retained for up to 26 months.
Subscription data: Retained as required by tax regulations.
AI-processed data: Not stored. Discarded immediately.
9. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. Contact us at info@dizzy-app.com. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children's Privacy
Dizzy is designed as a learning tool and may be used by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without parental consent. If you believe your child has provided personal data without consent, please contact us.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Dizzy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Dizzy is a multilingual syllable-splitting learning app for Android. The App allows users to enter or import text, split it into syllables, customise the visual presentation, download images, and use guided reading features. Some features use AI-powered services.
3. Account Registration
You may create an account using email and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or have parental consent if younger.
4. Free and Paid Plans
The free plan provides access to core features with daily usage limits. Paid plans significantly increase usage limits and are available as monthly or annual subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, attempt to access non-public areas, interfere with infrastructure, use automated scrapers, reverse engineer the App, share account credentials, or abuse AI features.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and features of the App are owned by Frederico and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of text you enter. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for providing the service.
7. AI-Powered Features
Dizzy uses AI services (provided by OpenAI) for optional features. Data is sent through our servers to OpenAI for processing and is not stored after the result is returned. These features are provided "as is."
8. Availability and Updates
We aim to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may release updates that change, add, or remove features.
9. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and the European Union. Disputes shall be subject to the courts of Portugal, without prejudice to your rights under EU consumer protection laws.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
